The majority of IIT offices, classrooms, laboratories, residence halls, and public spaces have at least one location that provides up to two data jacks. The IIT standard colors for data jacks are yellow/orange, and voice jacks are green/blue; where old cabling still exists, the color of the jacks might differ.
Wired connections provide the fastest network and internet access on Campus, with the exception of MSV Residence Hall where the wireless infrastructure might be faster than wired network. Generally, in MSV (except Fowler Hall) in most of the rooms, when looking in from the door, the ports on the left side are data ports, and the ports on the right side are phone ports; it is possible that they are mislabeled too. If you need assistance please contact the OTS Support Desk.
IIT/OTS provides network and internet access in Greek Housing. For some of the houses, the internal distribution is handled by the fraternity organizations.
