VPN - Setup and Connect Using Debian Based Linux

Download and Install

1. In a browser window, go to vpn.iit.edu
2. Log in using your MyIIT Portal username and password. Do not change the Group dropdown.
3. After clicking the Login button, it will autodetect your operating system and provide a download button.
4. Click the Download for... button.

Install and Connect to the IIT VPN for Debian Based Linux

1. Navigate to the Terminal and install the OpenConnect package.
   
2. Navigate to Settings -> Network and click the +next to VPN
   
3. Select Cisco AnyConnect Compatible VPN (OpenConnect)
   
4. Name the connection IIT and enter vpn.iit.edu as the gateway
   
5. Verify that the GROUP is IIT-VPN-USERS and enter your MyIIT Portal username and password.
   
6. Click Login
7. You can verify that you are connected when the bar next to IIT VPN is green.
   
8. The next time you enable the VPN, you can choose to automatically connect to our VPN host.
   

Disconnect from the IIT VPN

1. Navigate to Settings -> Network and click on the green bar next to IIT VPN.
   
2. You are disconnected from the VPN when the bar next to IIT VPN is grayed out.
