New Student Printing System

As you may have heard, over the summer Illinois Tech began the transition to a new, university-wide printing system called PaperCut.

The first phase of that transition is now complete. All Mies Campus printers, as well as printers on the fourth and sixth floors of the Graduate (Downtown) Campus have been converted to PaperCut. The IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law printers on the remaining floors of the Graduate Campus are currently operating on both the new university-wide system as well as the existing Chicago-Kent system.

The next phase, which involves the transition of Chicago-Kent students and computers to the university-wide system, will happen over the next month or so. Law students will be provided more information in the near future.

Instructions for using the new printing system appear below.

1.Printing Funds

The accounts of all Illinois Tech students currently enrolled in at least one class are provided free printing credits each semester. For more information on the amount of free printing credits you will receive and to view the university’s printing policies, please visit https://ots.iit.edu/printing/student-guest-printers.

When you have exhausted your allotted printing credits, PaperCut will now deduct the cost of your printing job from your TechCash account. To add funds to you TechCash account, please visit https://get.cbord.com/iit/. As a returning student, if you paid for, and still have, printing credits under the old system, these credits will be transferred to your TechCash account within the next few weeks.

Please note that the cost to print depends on the type of printing you do (black and white, color, plotter, etc.), whether you choose simplex/duplex, the size of the paper, and the chosen printer. Not all printers charge the same rate. You can find the current printing rates can here https://ots.iit.edu/printing/student-guest-printers.
