Maintenance Window
Because Illinois Institute of Technology is a residential community, OTS needs to coordinate the changes to production systems to minimize the impact on the university community. To accomplish this, two weekly Maintenance Windows have been established within which changes are made to systems or applications that are in production. These Windows have been coordinated with the university community to minimize the effects of any work that needs to be done. Exceptions to these Windows are only permitted with the prior approval of Illinois Tech's CIO.
Friday 9:15 p.m. to Saturday 11:00 a.m.: This Window is intended to handle any changes that may result in a service interruption, no matter how long or short the duration.
Thursday 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.: This Window is intended to handle those changes that will not result in any type of service interruption.
