The Phone Finder service helps determine how to dial up with a local call. The faculty member or the student is required to input his home telephone number and he will be provided with a local phone number which can be used for dialing up.

Ameritech will bill calls made from the telephone numbers that are defined as local to the area, to residential customers as flat rate calls in the least expensive rate bands. If the call is billed at a higher rate, a toll charge, Focal Communications will provide credit to the user for the entire cost of the call, including tax.
