News Clients

Making news.iit.edu your NNTP or News Server in Netscape or Internet Explorer.

In Netscape 3.0
  1. From the "Options" menu, select "Mail and News Preference"
  2. For "News (NNTP) Server" enter news.iit.edu
  3. Click OK to accept your changes
In Netscape Communicator 4.0
  1. From the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences"
  2. In the Preferences navigation window, click on "Mail & Groups"
  3. In the drop-down menu below "Mail & Groups" select "Groups Server"
  4. In the box labeled "Discussion groups (news) server" enter news.iit.edu
  5. Click OK to accept your changes
Test it out by reading news:news.announce.newsusers

In Outlook Express (comes with Internet Explorer 4.0)
