| IIT faculty and staff receive an email account in the format of UID@iit.edu. Effective January 1, 2007 an employees email is their system generated UID. An email alias in the format of firstname.lastname@iit.edu is also automatically created for new employees. The email alias may be used to send and receive email, but not to log into the myIIT portal.

Username and Initial Password:
Username: Your UID
Your UID is comprised of the first letter of your first name and up to seven letters of your last name. For example, Jane Doe could have a UID of jdoe. If individuals have similar names, numbers are added to distinguish accounts (jdoe234). If you aren’t sure what your UID is, look it up at myuid.iit.edu.
Initial Password : MMDDXXXX
MMDD – Is Month
and Day you were born
XXXX – Are the last 4 digits of your CWID
For example, if you were born on July 4th, and your CWID is 12345678,
your new password is: 07045678
